The American magazine Forbes has awarded the city of Málaga first place on a list of cities in the world - capitals excluded - that are most worth visiting. In total, the study has evaluated 420 cities in 89 countries.
The study was published in Forbes on February 11 and was rewritten in, among other local newspapers, Diario Sur and Sur in English. “Visit for yourself and you’ll soon see why the world’s eyes are turning to this stunning corner of Andalucía,” the digital edition of the well-known American business magazine is quoted. The study is based on Google searches of hundreds of holiday destinations worldwide and Málaga not only tops the list but also does so by a very large margin over number two which is Venice and the third, San Francisco.
Málaga is mentioned to above all be known for its beautiful idyllic beaches, lively culture and delicious food. The city is also praised for free the attractions such as La Alcazaba and Gibralfaro Castle and for being the birthplace of Pablo Picasso with its own Picasso Museum, which is also free to visitors on Sundays.
