Málaga is ranked as the third focus area for various players in the real estate business, after Madrid and Barcelona. This is one of the most important conclusions in the report "Vision Málaga 2021" from the consulting firm Savills Aguirre Newman.
Tourism, culture, gastronomy, businesses and leisure are identified as the province's main assets. Savills Aguirre Newman does not rule out that Málaga will soon, take over the second place from Barcelona.
The report, which was released in the beginning of July, highlights, among other things, the major tech companies' interest in Málaga and the posiitve consequences these establishments have on the city. In 2021, both Google and Vodafone have chosen Málaga for their latest investments. The same applies to the telemarketing sector´s investments on the Costa del Sol, with several new large international companies starting business here.
The housing market is said to have maintained its dynamism even during the pandemic. Above all, the high demand and sales rate in the Málaga city have shown a rapid recovery.
In 2020, just over 24,600 homes were sold in the province of Málaga. That is 50 percent more than in the province of Seville. Of these, 5,000 were newly produced homes and 19,000 were resale properties. In fact, sales of new production in 2020 increased by 52 percent compared with 2019.
The quality of life and the economic and cultural expansion give Malaga the most important factors for an exponential growth in all respects.
